Let’s make work a destination

Work has transformed forever. Alpenglow is a landscape for the premier purpose-built destination workplace.

The offices where we’ve always worked no longer reflect how we work today. The places that we work have the opportunity to transform the work that we do. We must reimagine what an office looks like and its role in a professional journey to realize this vision.

The reality is that talent has the power to shape their experience and they’re not interested in “going back.” Today’s employee has more options and they expect far more from their job — from fulfillment to lifestyle. The flexibility that was once a perk is now table stakes and recruiting — and retaining — top talent is a critical challenge.

We believe there is an opportunity to reimagine workplaces that unlock the greatness in the individuals and the intersectional brilliance of the collective. Design spaces that empower people to do their best work by creating tailored spaces for different professional objectives and mind-states. These spaces should reflect the diverse ways that we work, think and live towards unlocking bold thinking, bonded teams, and optimal results.

Alpenglow is a blank canvas for a future vision of the office

A purpose-built destination workplace opportunity in Lake Tahoe, CA.

Disruptions occur when the status quo is challenged. Inspired by the rare phenomena — Alpenglow — that is created by the reflection of light on particles present in the atmosphere, this space will be an environment where the brilliance of individuals can reflect off of their teammates.

Located in Lake Tahoe in untouched wilderness, this 47 acre playground will inspire big thinking, innovation, collaboration and brand passion — as well as be a whole lot of fun — where teams can connect and reconnect with loving their work. Innovative work is created is disruptive and unexpected spaces.

“The office is an invention — it’s not a natural phenomenon. If we think of the office as an invention, then we can reinvent it.”

AGUSTIN CHEVEZ | ARCHITECT AND WORKPLACE DESIGN RESEARCHER

The Alpenglow Destination Workplace concept combines community space, work/live cabins and wilderness worksites.

FREE-RANGE WORKSPACES The open office and the cubicle were designed for bygone ways of working. Knowledge work, innovation practices and true collaboration require environments that are adaptive, task-oriented and create a space for breakthrough thinking. Optimal spaces should include areas for small group work, focused solo work, soft seating and larger gathering zones. This destination workplace is designed for our modern digital world and includes a variety of tools (digital and analog) to enable seamless work. Finally, the ideal workspace can integrate biophilic elements to connect employees to the natural environment.

“Fast forward to today۪s commercial world. The aim of creating a community in the office is to create a sense of belonging; of being part of something; working together and in support of each other; wanting to be a part of the whole. Biophilic design provides the canvas for this community”. — OFFICE PRINCIPLES

WILDERNESS WORKSITES Mental health is top of mind, and there is an opportunity to build the health, trust and happiness of teams in a non-traditional collaboration space. From trends like forest bathing to developing industries like eco therapy, the benefits of spending time outside are apparent and there is a business opportunity to optimize the health of teams and individuals.

“Employees are working three more hours a day compared to before the pandemic, and 80% of respondents ranked wellbeing as important or very important to their organization’s success. [There] is an opportunity to disconnect from technology and connect with each other.” — SALESFORCE

20 years of preparation. Unprecedented location. Unlimited possibility.

Alpenglow is a west coast rarity. This secluded property is unlike any opportunity in Tahoe, Jackson Hole, Deer Valley, Park City, Sun Valley, Aspen, Vail or Whistler Blackcomb.

With over a decade of preparation invested in its sustainable development prep, from checking for endangered species to best-in-class fire preparedness, this exceptional location is the place to build an outlier.

Just minutes to 6,000 skiable acres at Palisades Tahoe (Alpine Meadows and Olympic Valley), on-site access to trails and surrounded by U.S. Forest Service land, this natural gem is a private oasis. And there’s Fiber wifi.

The first — and last — of its kind.

A year-round wilderness playground

Lake Tahoe is known for its seasonal beauty and multitude of activities. Alpenglow has some of the world’s most phenomenal terrain in its backyard.

In 2023, the new Palisades Tahoe Base to Base gondola will connect the Alpine Meadows and Olympic Valley mountain resorts making it easy for skiers and snowboarders to explore the diverse terrain. This $65M gondola is a first in North America and will take guests over the KT-22 peak in under 16 minutes. Alpenglow is located minutes from the gondola and the Alpine Meadows base, and is ski-in, ski-out for backcountry skiers.
